Marjorie Macieira, M.A., is Principal at Macieira Consulting, LLC.  Brazilian born she moved to the US, where she obtained her graduate degree in international development and public health at the American University.  Over the last 25+ years, she has been building global program capacity to improve health outcomes for women and youth.  Her work has ranged from providing technical assistance for sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) programs at ground level to guiding clients such as USAID, UN Agencies, governments, foundations and NGOs in developing more effective health strategies in 25 countries throughout Latin America, the Caribbean, Middle East, SE Asia and SE Africa.  She has designed and implemented programs, trained cadres of health and education professionals, conducted research, monitoring and evaluation, published extensively on youth and SRHR issues, and provided oversight to large grant portfolios. Her favorite work consists of empowering young people, especially those more vulnerable or at-risk, to define themselves and become their own agents for change. She currently resides in Arlington, VA, USA.
